Your repository, distilled.
Analyze a GitHub repository
Open the workspace, paste a GitHub repository URL, and select Analyze repository. You can specify a branch, tag, or commit; RepoSpec pins the analysis to the resolved commit.
Connect a private repository
Sign in with GitHub, then install the RepoSpec GitHub App on the repositories you choose. Grant Contents read-only access. If sign-in says setup is required, the website operator must activate its GitHub App first.
Choose your context
Inspect source costs in the treemap or file list. Toggle files or sections and adjust the budget from 100 to 20,000 tokens. Database keys are preserved as long as possible; rules, types, and routes are pruned first.
Download and use it
Download .ai-context.md, .cursorrules, or CLAUDE.md and add it to your project. You can also copy the Markdown into an assistant prompt. RepoSpec does not modify GitHub repositories.
Supported source
TypeScript interfaces, type aliases, enums, Next.js App Router handlers, Prisma models, literal Drizzle tables, and common Zod object shapes. Dynamic factories and cross-file inference are limited. Parse notes identify skipped or unsupported source.
Repository limits
Snapshots are limited to 12 MB compressed, 48 MB expanded, 300 source files, 128 KB per source file, and 4 MB of extracted source. Large snapshots may be rejected or contain skipped-file notes. Tests, declarations, generated files, environment files, and key files are excluded.
GitHub App setup for operators
Register a GitHub App with read-only Contents access and selected repository installations. Set its user authorization callback to your site origin followed by /api/auth/github/callback. Configure APP_URL, GITHUB_CLIENT_ID, GITHUB_CLIENT_SECRET, GITHUB_APP_SLUG, and SESSION_SECRET on the server, then redeploy. SESSION_SECRET must contain at least 32 characters. Keep secrets out of client variables and source control. Keep REPOSPEC_LOCAL_ENABLED=false on hosted deployments.
Keep it current
Reanalyze to pick up new commits. The optional local CLI supports continuous filesystem watching; a hosted website does not monitor files on your device.
